The Pomank Ventures story began in the mid-1970s when the enterprising Mr. Charles Opoku Amankwaa started his trading journey in Kumasi. What began as a modest venture quickly flourished due to his unwavering commitment to quality and exceptional service. Within a year of starting his trading business, Mr. Amankwaa established himself as an independent trader, creating vital trade routes between Kumasi and Sampa in the Bono and Ahafo Regions bordering Ivory Coast.
The 1980s marked a transformative period as Mr. Amankwaa partnered with a close friend to enter the caustic soda market, producing high-quality soap that became beloved throughout the region. This successful venture led to the establishment of an international import trading company, opening doors to numerous opportunities. During this dynamic period, Mr. Amankwaa formed a pivotal relationship with Royal Smilde, bringing their renowned Cookband margarine to Ghana.
In the early 1990s, Mr. Amankwaa formalized this growing enterprise by founding Pomank Ventures LLC, building upon his established foundation and strengthening the collaboration with Royal Smilde. For over three decades since, we have proudly supplied Cookband Margarine to meet diverse baking needs across Ghana, becoming the preferred choice for bakers nationwide.
Today, under the leadership of M. Acheampong, Pomank Ventures continues to build on this legacy while embracing innovation and expansion to better serve Ghana’s evolving bakery industry.
